IPEN Brazil is intended to promote the development of naval, oceanic, and transportation engineering in Brazil. This is achieved through:

1. A biennial congress on naval, port, and transportation engineering held in a country within the American continent;
2. Organization of technical events in the member countries;
3. Dissemination of technical topics in the naval-maritime field through any means.
